The name Para Vita is derived from the greek prefix "Para", meaning beside, and the Latin word "Vita", meaning life because our goal at Para Vita is to walk along side our clients as they build better lives and relationships. After 15 years in private practice our founder, Dr. Ryan Smith, had a vision for taking his vast knowledge of relationship dynamics beyond the walls of a therapeutic practice. While we do offer traditional therapeutic services, Para Vita was built to provide relationship training to couples, families, businesses, corporate teams, leadership groups, and industries where human relationships are a key to thriving. Dr. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Marriage and Family as well as a Master's in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He maintains licenses from the state of Texas as a Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and a Professional Counselor Supervisor.
